What Are Ultraviolet Rays?

Ultraviolet rays, light rays, heat rays, and X-rays are all forms of radiation.

The wavelengths of radiation have an astonishing scale. The longest are radio waves, and the shortest are gamma rays. Midway between the longest and shortest wavelengths, there are light waves or visible radiation. Light waves have different lengths according to colors.

Red forms the longest visible wave for humans, followed by orange, then yellow and green, then blue, and finally violet, which has the shortest radiation, or wavelength, that can be seen.

Directly after the wavelength of violet light, there is radiation that scientists call the ultraviolet layer.

These rays are emitted by the sun, and they are also emitted by a lamp made by humans for this purpose, that is, to emit these rays. The wavelengths of ultraviolet rays range from gamma to 100,000,000 million waves in every centimeter.

Ultraviolet rays are shorter than all other rays. They reach our skin with the heat of the sun, and usually half of these rays reach us, while the other half is absorbed by the earth’s atmosphere.
